Shola Aur Shabnam (transl. Fire and Dew drops) is a 1992 Indian Hindi-language action romantic comedy film directed by David Dhawan with a screenplay by Anees Bazmee and produced by Pahlaj Nihalani. Starring Govinda and Divya Bharti, the film shows the intense struggle of a NCC student to prove his innocence after being falsely implicated into a murder case and subsequent framed events by a notorious gangster. Anupam Kher, Alok Nath, Mohnish Behl and Gulshan Grover appear in supporting roles.
Initially titled Khiladi, the film was meant to be the debut film of Divya Bharti. But, censor problems caused it to be delayed. The cinematography was handled by Siba Mishra, while David Dhawan directed as well as edited the film. Anees Bazmee, Praful Parekh and Rajiv Kaul penned the screenplay. Bappi Lahiri composed the music. It was distributed by Nihalani's banner, Chiragdeep International.
The film received considerable favourable reviews upon release, and was a success, with critical praise drawn towards the performance of Govinda. Eventually becoming the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of 1992, it grossed about â‚¹10.7 crore (US$9.3 million) and provided breakthrough to its cast members.
